Abstract:
This report contains financial summaries from 47 Minnesota farms that participated in the project between 2008 and 2011 [funded by the USDA's Specialty Crop Block Grant program]. It is intended to give growers (and potential growers) some of the hard data they need to help them decide what kind of fruit or vegetable production could fit their financial goals. Existing growers can also use this information to compare their returns to the averages experienced by others. This report includes enterprise data for the following specialty crops: apples, blueberries, cantaloupe, grapes, pumpkinds, raspberries, sweet corn, assorted vegetables.
