Agriculture Counts -- The Founding and Evolution of the National Agricultural Statistics Service 1957-2007

No 339101, NASS Research Reports from United States Department of Agriculture, National Agricultural Statistics Service
Abstract:
Excerpt from the author note: This publication is a written history of a statistical organization rather than a statistical publication. Thus, there are no formulas, explanations of complex estimating methods or detailed graphs included. Two types of data tables are included for each key time period. They summarize changes in U.S. cash receipts from farm marketings and per capita consumption of meat, poultry, and fish as those measurements do track important changes in the supply of and demand for agricultural products over time.
