No 164576, Animal Health Economics from University of Queensland, School of Economics

Abstract: This paper examines the development of animal health information systems at the farm, national and international level, with examples of some systems that have been developed. Methods for the assessment of animal health information systems are then examined. This is followed by an outline of the national animal health information system (NARIS) currently being developed in Australia, with special emphasis on the system of Structured Animal Health Surveillance (SAHS) being set up in Central Queensland.
