Abstract: The main objectives of ACIAR Project No. 8823 as specified in the Research Agreement, were to provide information about (i) market prospects for giant clams, (ii) the production economics and supply factors involved in giant clam mariculture, (iii) marine property rights as these affect the economics of giant clam mariculture and (iv) the possible value of giant clam mariculture in development in less developed countries of the Indo-Pacific region especially South Pacific countries.
