Abstract: Local cooperatives play a prominent role in providing farmers with agricultural inputs. They are important to the farmer and the rural community as a whole. One of the most important products distributed to the rural community is petroleum. This report examines petroleum operations of local cooperatives and their importance to the rural community. The main emphasis is on cooperative product mix, services, supply source, and competition. Cooperatives are analyzed based on various characteristics such as size, type, and region.
