No 313505, Service Reports (SR) from United States Department of Agriculture, Rural Development
Abstract:
Excerpts from the report: Cooperatives are active in every phase of the marketing process, from assembly and packing to canning, freezing, drying, and consumer packaging. In addition, cooperatives have become increasingly active in exporting, providing a direct link between the grower and foreign buyers, resulting in expanded markets for member commodities and high-quality products to consumers worldwide. In 1980, 31 cooperatives had direct exports of fruit, vegetables, and nuts valued at more than $630 million. This booklet will help to acquaint you with cooperative exporters of horticultural products.
