Famine Mitigation Bibliography: With Special Emphasis on Africa (Second Edition)

Eileen Runcy

No 337000, USDA Miscellaneous from United States Department of Agriculture

Abstract: Excerpts from the Introduction: The Famine Mitigation Bibliography contains the complete listing of all the materials in the Famine Mitigation Resource Library, as well as some additional references. The First Edition Bibliography was produced in 1992 and it contained 1528 items on famine and related topics. Since 1992, the Resource Library collection has been expanded. This Second Edition Bibliography includes all the items in the First Edition plus new materials, a total of 3,630 items. A large number of the materials in the Resource Library collection are non-traditional in format, including trip reports, project evaluations and unpublished reports and papers from private voluntary organizations and corporations involved in various aspects of food relief and sustainable development programs. The Resource Library collection focuses on, but is not limited to, Africa. This Second Edition Bibliography is organized alphabetically by first author in ascending order. The Bibliography is accompanied by title index, in alphabetical order, and a general subject and country/region index, which provide additional access to the Resource Library collection.
