Abstract:
Digest Of Public Law 90-537: COLORADO RIVER BASIN PROJECT ACT. Authorizes construction the of the Central Arizona Project for the purposes of furnishing water and municipal water supplies to the water-deficient areas of Arizona and western New Mexico through direct diversion or exchange of water, control of floods, conservation and development of fish and wildlife resource, and enhancement of recreation opportunities. Authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to designate and add to the Fort McDowell Indian Reservation 2,500 acres of suitable lands under his jurisdiction now a part of the Tonto National Forest. Table included (from the Congressional Record–Senate): Upper Basin Depletions Estimated by the States of the Upper Colorado River Division [for] Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, and Northeast Arizona (This table spells out of the total water demand of the Upper Basin—project by project).
