Great Plains States Combine and Labor Guide: Wheat and Small-Grain Harvest
Extension Service
No 410173, USDA Miscellaneous from United States Department of Agriculture
Abstract:
This guide has been prepared as an aid to operators of custom combines and trucks, and to workers who assist in the harvesting of wheat and other small grains in the western Great Plains States. It indicates principal producing areas, principal highways from area to area and from state to state, and principal ports of entry for machines entering each state. The harvest area as a whole has been divided into smaller local areas for convenience in showing approximate acreages of grain to be harvested and the date when the harvest usually starts.
