Medium-term projections of lemon acreage and production

Roger Fox and Kenneth Ribyat

No 291656, WAEA/ WFEA Conference Archive (1929-1995) from Western Agricultural Economics Association

Abstract: Medium-term projections of California-Arizona lemon acreage and production are made using a three equation econometric model. Model projections of acreage compare favorably with existing "committee" projections. Projection errors for production however, are about the same from both approaches. The lemon model represents only beginning of what could be a major projections system for California-Arizona citrus industry.
