REAL ESTATE PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT: PREPARE FOR FUTURE CHANGES

Lydia De Puy and Geert Dewulf

ERES from European Real Estate Society (ERES)

Abstract: A corporate real estate portfolio is constantly subject to changes. In order to keep up with these changes, a corporate real estate manager should focus more on ways to deal with future risks and uncertainties rather than finding solutions that are only valuable for todayís problem. This paper elaborates on methods to cope with an uncertain future. Using scenario planning to deal with uncertainties and creating flexibility in the real estate portfolio will help a corporate real estate manager to make real estate decisions that will add value to the core business and optimise the performance of the real estate portfolio.
