Abstract:
In Poland, the lack of data is the major hindrance to research into the real estate market. Data at low aggregation level (municipalities, counties) frequently prevents the extraction of any information allowing the identification of householdsí wealth, the availability of land for residential building, or the rate of unemployment. These are the factors that play the key role in stimulating local markets of real estate (Gibb, Hunter 1998). The lack of transparent commercial real estate marketís data is responsible for some investment impediments. Autorís aim is to present existing situation, evaluate some attempts made in the sphere of real estate market research in Poland.
