Abstract:
This paper is focused on the location factors of corporate headquarters inthe South African context, with a particular attention to companies listed inthe Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE). The paper seeks to investigate theregional nodes that likely influences headquarters location decisions. In sodoing, the study seeks to understand how the metropolitan specialisationlikely influence corporate headquarters location. The framework adopted inthis study is that headquarters agglomerate in particular metropolitan areasdue to control power and network power. However, the nodes of themetropolitan areas power and network do change with the changes in theenvironment.
