Abstract:
This study responds to the critical calls from leading diversity scholars (Holvino, 2010; Rodriguez et al., 2016, Rosette et al., 2018) to study identity constructions at the intersections of race, gender and class to provide a deeper and a more nuanced understanding of work and organisations (Nkomo et al., 2019). This paper seeks to deepen the understanding of gendered influencer cultures and its dominant theorizing by bringing in transnational, post-colonial (Nkomo et al., 2019) perspectives and the construction of women's subjectivities through their relationships with religion, work, family, motherhood and the state.
