Abstract:
This paper reports on some preliminary analysis of the lavour market experience of young Australians, with a particular emphasis on youth unemployment, relative to the circumstances of the population as a whole. The evidence since the seventies indicates that the changes in the youth labour market have been far more dramatic that for other sections of the community and the circumstances of young people cannot be fignored in considering the solutions to our unemployment problems.
