No 5, Instant Reports from Regional Agency for Technology and Innovation (Apulia, Italy)
Abstract:
The report is dedicated to how the competitiveness of territories is measured, through the 'location' factors that determine their attractiveness, such as the quality of institutions, the level of education, infrastructure endowment, and the functioning of the labour market. The European Union today defines the attractiveness of regions as their ability to guarantee an attractive and sustainable environment for companies and people who live and work in those territories. A special focus is made on socio-economic factors and how they affect regional innovation performance, with some evidence from the case of Apulia.
