Abstract: This paper aims, first, to review the experience and the wide range of practices adopted by deposit insurers. Second, it aims to identify impediments to developing effective reimbursement systems and processes. And third, the considerable complexity of the reimbursement process demands a set of guidance points, or best practices, in developing effective reimbursement systems and processes.
