Abstract: The theories on leadership and leaders enrich the management literature and can be found in practice with regard to the leadership style of the managers who need to change their traditional behavior vis-à-vis employees and collaborators. The need of this change in behavior and attitude comes from the negative and positive effects that a proper or improper style of leadership has on people, the environment and the organizational culture, with direct consequences on the financial outcomes but not only. The leadership style of the manager can be seen as a model to follow, it affects the organization directly, and it influences the behavior of its members. Women access to the work market is nowadays guaranteed by the laws of the countries but also by the market necessities. If in the past women’s roles were mainly as mother and wife, in the future women will be present in the social and political life assuming roles that in the past belonged to men. The massive presence of women in institutions, companies and other organizations is not reflected in the same way in the management structures. The majority of women have only an execution job whereas in the middle and high management they have low presence.
