Abstract: Standard of living has slowed continuously over the past decades in most developed economies, mainly due to a productivity slowdown. Have we entered a period of secular stagnation? In fact, many countries still have a significant catch-up potential, even in Europe, but to achieve this catch-up, the implementation of structural reforms is required.

La progression du niveau de vie moyen s’affaiblit continûment sur les dernières décennies dans toutes les économies les plus développées. Cet essoufflement, qui renvoie à celui de la productivité, nourrit la crainte d’avoir amorcé une période de stagnation séculaire. En fait, un potentiel de rattrapage important existe dans de nombreux pays, notamment en Europe, mais sa concrétisation nécessite la mise en œuvre déterminée de réformes structurelles.
