Abstract: In late 2023, the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS) updated its climate scenarios so that the impacts better reflect the cumulative delays in deploying the low-carbon transition. These show that an early and orderly transition – although costly in the short term – is always preferable to inaction, which is harmful in the long term. This blog post outlines the impacts for France.

Fin 2023, le Réseau pour le verdissement du système financier (NGFS) a mis à jour ses scénarios climatiques, dont les impacts ont été réévalués pour refléter le retard accumulé dans la transition bas-carbone. Ils montrent que la transition précoce et ordonnée, bien que coûteuse à court terme, est toujours préférable à l’inaction, néfaste à long terme. Ce billet détaille les impacts pour la France.
