Abstract:
Children’s growth status is an important measure commonly used as a proxy indicator of advancements in a country’s health, human capital and economic development. Understanding how and why child growth patterns have changed is necessary for characterising global health inequalities. Sustainable development goal 3.2 aims to reduce preventable newborn deaths by at least 12 deaths per 1000 live births and child deaths to 25 per 1000 live births (WHO/UNICEF, 2019).
