2026 Stata Conference from Stata Users Group

Abstract: In this talk, I will introduce the new xtswitchdid command, which provides event-study treatment effects for panel data when subjects are allowed to switch in and out of treatment. This is an implementation of the estimator proposed in de Chaisemartin and D'Haultfoeuille (2024). I will also discuss how xtswithchdid fits into the difference-in-differences estimators that have been implemented in the past couple of Stata releases and how it fits the evolution of our understanding of DID.
