Abstract: The Research and Statistics Department of the Bank of Japan has conducted its rebasing of the Services Producer Price Index (SPPI) in accordance with the "Final Draft of the Rebasing of the Corporate Services Price Index to the Base Year 2010 (available in Japanese only)" published in February. This document explains the main features of the rebasing of the index to the base year 2010, presents an outline of the 2010 base index, summarizes price developments of the 2010 base index, and discusses the introduction of a wholesale services price survey and various steps to be taken in the future.
