Congressional Budget Office
No 53209, Reports from Congressional Budget Office
Abstract:
This report explains the changes to CBO’s long-term Social Security projections since last year. Compared with the projections made in July 2016, CBO’s latest projections, published in March 2017, indicate a slight improvement in the financial outlook for Social Security. The projected 75-year actuarial balance has improved from −1.6 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) to −1.5 percent of GDP.
