How the Housing Trust Fund and Capital Magnet Fund Support Affordable Housing
Congressional Budget Office
No 58427, Reports from Congressional Budget Office
Abstract:
The Housing Trust Fund and the Capital Magnet Fund provide grants to increase and preserve the supply of affordable rental housing and to increase homeownership for low-income households. The funds are financed through fees paid by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, two government-sponsored enterprises (GSEs), on new mortgage guarantees that they make.
