Emissions of Greenhouse Gases in the Manufacturing Sector
Congressional Budget Office
No 59695, Reports from Congressional Budget Office
Abstract:
When producing goods, the manufacturing sector emits carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases that cause global warming, both by burning fossil fuels and through certain industrial processes. In this report, CBO provides an overview of greenhouse gas emissions in the manufacturing sector as a whole and in specific industries. The report discusses historical changes in the factors that determine those emissions, including energy use, technology, and the composition of output.
