The Budget and Economic Outlook: 2024 to 2034
Congressional Budget Office
No 59710, Reports from Congressional Budget Office
Abstract:
CBO describes its projections of the federal budget and the U.S. economy under current law for this year and the decade that follows. In those projections, federal budget deficits total $20 trillion over the 2025–2034 period and federal debt held by the public reaches 116 percent of GDP, the highest level ever recorded. Economic growth slows to a rate of 1.5 percent in 2024 as inflation continues to decline and short-term interest rates fall. After 2024, real GDP grows at a moderate pace.
