Budgetary Effects of Policies That Would Increase Hepatitis C Treatment

Congressional Budget Office

No 60237, Reports from Congressional Budget Office

Abstract: CBO describes its initial analysis of the potential federal budgetary effects of policies that would increase treatment of hepatitis C, a liver disease that, left untreated, can lead to serious liver problems. The agency focused on two sample national policies that would increase treatment rates among Medicaid enrollees and thereby affect federal spending on health care.
