Abstract: This report presents data from the 1999 National Youth Tobacco Survey (NYTS) that describes the use of tobacco products, other than cigarettes, among a nationally representative sample of middle and high school students. The report also examines the relationship between cigarette use and the use of other tobacco products. Tobacco products categorized as "other" than cigarettes that are discussed in this report include smokeless tobacco, cigars, pipes, bidis, and kreteks. The two central questions and main findings discussed in the reports are: 1)What is the prevalence of the use of othertobacco products among youth, and 2)What is the relationship between the use of cigarettes and the use of other tobacco products.
