Legacy First Look Report 5. Youth Access to Cigarettes: Results from the 1999 National Youth Tobacco Survey

Abstract: The purpose of this report is to examine the issue of youth access to cigarettes using data from the 1999 Natiional Youth Tobacco Survey. Yout access to cigarettes is described in terms of youth's usual sources of cigarettes, the prices they pay, and the restrictions they encounter when trying to purchase cigarettes. This report focues on four general questions with the following main findings: 1)How do youth obtain cigarettes? 2)Where do youth go to purchase cigarettes? 3)What do youth pay for pack of cigarettes?
