Abstract:
This report is an appendix to the report titled "A Lifecycle emissions model (LEM): lifecycle emissions from transportation fuels, motor vehicles, transportation modes, electricity use, heating and cooking fuels, and materials". It examines the use of biodiesel as a heavy duty vehicle fuel. The report gives an overview on biodiesel production, byproducts from biodiesel production, biodiesel demonstrations, fuel consumption and maintenance, and biodiesel combustion and emissions.
