Abstract: This paper presents a summary of observations on the July 1993 Study Tour to Japan by California PATH Director Donald Orne and Deputy Director/AVCS Program Manager Steven Shladover. The authors report on visits with academic institutions, government ministries, and automotive companies. Detailed descriptions of the individual visits and an overview of the Intelligent Vehicle '93 Conference are provided.
