Abstract: Neo-Schumpeterian economics has elaborated a theory of the role of science and technology in capitalist dynamics. We argue that this approach may be improved if it takes Marx's theory of capital into account. This (collective) effort should also consider contributions from some classic authors of political economy (Adam Smith, Schumpeter, and the institucionalists). We suggest some points to organize this dialogue.
