Abstract:
The objective of this paper is to analyze migration flows involving the municipalities of the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte. Investigates the direction and size of immigrant and migrant flows and migratory balances. The data used come from the Demographic Census for the years 1991, 2000 and 2010. The results reveal some detachable differences between the metropolitan center and its periphery in relation to the net population gains, not only due to net migration between these spatial units in metropolitan, but also by migratory balances of these units in population exchanges with the interior cities in the state of Minas Gerais and other states context.
