Abstract: This discussion paper follows up on the event held on December 4, 2025, at CIRANO. During the event, four research studies were presented to gain a better understanding of the links between education, career choices, and the labor market in Quebec. The event, which brought together researchers, public policymakers, and institutional stakeholders, highlighted Quebec’s exceptional potential in terms of educational data and scientific expertise. This document offers a thematic summary organized around a central theme: in Quebec, investing in education remains profitable, but people are making their choices in an environment characterized by fragmented information, complex pathways, and growing uncertainty about career opportunities. Ce document Pour réflexion fait suite à l’activité du 4 décembre 2025 au CIRANO. Lors de cette journée, quatre recherches ont été présentées afin de mieux comprendre les liens entre la formation, les choix de carrière et le marché du travail au Québec. La journée, qui a réuni chercheurs, décideurs publics et acteurs institutionnels, a mis en lumière le potentiel exceptionnel du Québec en matière de données éducatives et d’expertise scientifique. Ce document en propose une synthèse thématique organisée autour d’un fil conducteur : au Québec, investir en éducation demeure rentable, mais les individus font leurs choix dans un environnement caractérisé par une information fragmentée, des parcours complexes et une incertitude croissante quant aux débouchés.
