CIRANO Project Reports from CIRANO
Abstract:
This document presents the technological solutions supporting inter-organizational processes, as well as the leading suppliers on the market. Its purpose is not to present an "ideal"" architecture, but to sum up for the manager concepts usually used in technical outlets. The characteristics of inter-organizational integration tools are described (portal, middleware, EAI). One of the most important constraints is that distinct applications should have a common language, therefore the standards, which are also exposed, are a central matter. Emergent approaches are eventually presented (ERP evolutions, peer-to-peer)."
