Indagine Policy DelphiAntonio Tintori IRPPS Working Papers from National Research Council, Institute for Research on Population and Social Policies Abstract: (English) This working paper presents the research report on the Policy Delphi survey titled “Roma Sport 2020”. There was a need to conduct a study on the role and potential of sport in order to enhance its educational dimension and to address the urgent problem of the sedentary lifestyle of people living in the more economically advanced countries. In the last few years, IRPPS has devoted considerable attention to people’s participation/non-participation in sporting activities and to the function of sport in today’s urban context. On behalf of the Lazio Region’s Agency for Sport, Agensport, IRPPS conducted a survey, titled “I cittadini e lo sport nel Lazio”, on people’s behaviour and attitude towards sport in the region, and was able to analyse the people’s subjective perception of their participation in sport and body image. It was also possible to define the characteristics of “non-participants”, the values connected with sport and its social representation. The present survey applies the Delphi technique and aims to provoke more interest in the topic by analysing sport as a global phenomenon, potentially able to generate individual well-being, personal growth, social cohesion, cultural, educational and healthcare development, besides economic development. The results of “Roma Sport 2020”, comprising a set of social policies to be implemented in the city over the next 10 years, represent a starting point to rethink the urban environment, social relationships and lifestyles from the holistic and balanced point of view of sport. (Italiano) Il presente Working Paper contiene il rapporto di ricerca dell’indagine Policy Delphi “Roma Sport 2020”. L’esigenza di condurre uno studio sul ruolo e le potenzialità dello sport è maturata sia al fine di valorizzare la dimensione educativa del fenomeno sia in considerazione dell’emergenza oggi caratterizzata dal problema della sedentarietà nei paesi economicamente più sviluppati. L’Irpps ha dedicato negli ultimi anni una notevole attenzione alla pratica, alla non-pratica e alla funzione dello sport nei moderni contesti urbani. Nel 2007 ha realizzato per conto dell’Agensport della Regione Lazio l’indagine “I cittadini e lo sport nel Lazio”, attraverso la quale è stata analizzata la percezione soggettiva della pratica dello sport e della corporeità, definita la figura del “non praticante”, i valori e le rappresentazioni sociali dello sport. La presente indagine, mediante l’applicazione di una particolare tecnica Delphi, rinnova l’interesse sul tema analizzando lo sport in quanto “fenomeno globale”, potenzialmente in grado di generare benessere individuale, crescita personale, coesione e sviluppo sociale, educativo e sanitario, oltre che economico. I risultati di “Roma Sport 2020”, costituiti da un set di politiche sociali da implementare nell’Urbe nei prossimi 10 anni, si configurano come un punto di partenza per ripensare l’ambiente urbano, le relazioni sociali e gli stili di vita attraverso l’ottica olistica e armonizzante dello sport.
