No 4326, Borradores de Investigación from Universidad del Rosario
Abstract:
This survey provides a broad overview of the theory of economicintegration from the standpoint of Customs Union theory. It arguesthat Customs Union theory, as such, lacks integration and that thereappears to be no clear possibility that recent developments in the areawill solve this failure. In spite of this, the basic theoretical frameworkthat has been laid down from Viner's seminal work and furtherdeveloped and perfected by others, is still useful as a tool for empiricalresearch on the topic.
