Abstract:
The aim of this paper is to approach the existing appreciation about business administration in Colombia from two important fields: the corporate and the academic fields; In Colombia there is a dubious reputation of this professional career in terms of its contributions in the business world and its apparent ease of concepts, knowledge and application in organizations, to the point that anyone can be held managerial positions Without having studied this career. It is important to point out that despite this matter has shared roots, a distinction may be recognized. First of all, a historical review will serve as a contextualization about the emergence of the business administration in Colombia, passing through different periods of time in which the mistakes and its consequences for the present time will be analyzed. Afterwards, an analysis about administration will take place from an educational viewpoint, in which the administration can be seen as part of an organization, in this case it would be the university, where a renowned perspective on the corporate and marketing fields will be regarded: the stakeholders. This perspective will be important to understand the two mentioned fields this paper addresses, and whose elucidation will allow to figure out what is the true purpose and role of the business administrators inside the organization and likewise to contribute to a change in the appreciation about this career.
