Abstract:
The organization is a social space composed of multiple complex relationships between people who act driven by their interests. This way of acting is usually selfish and, in consequence, may affect the objectives set in organizations. It is precisely at that point where it is generated a conflict of interest between the organization and the worker. Conflict that starts to be regulated by the eagerness of workers to achieve incentives and encouragements (economic and emotional) that supply their needs and also, by the search of skilled human capital that the organization does in order to get competitive advantages in the market. The purpose of this essay is to show how being motivated can deplete the conflict of interest within an organization. For this, it develops an analysis of the organizational environment from a historical perspective, looking for the role that has played the motivation in that environment.
