Privatización de empresas del sector telecomunicaciones en Colombia 2006-2020. Un análisis desde la teoría de subastas

Abstract: This paper aims to analyze in economic terms the privatization auction carried out in 2006 for the sale of 50 % + 1 of the shares of Colombia Telecomunicaciones S.A. ESP and review the current market structure in case of new privatization. In addition, the intrinsic aspects that Colombia has in the sector are shown through a description in legal and economic terms to develop a theoretical auction model where the State can maximize the expected benefits (yield maximization) and find the optimal probability that maximizes returns (optimality). Finally, the paper shows the need to limit the bidders with information advantages in the 2006 auction and increase the competitiveness in the market structure of the sector today
