La macroeconomía: un punto de vista metodológico

Abstract:
This paper compares micro and microeconomics in order to identify the differences between these two fields. Although there are differences in scope and method, they are not the key ones. The main difference is of purpose: as it is part of the neoclassical school, microeconomics intends to give a formal answer to Adam Smith’s philosophical question; in contrast, macroeconomics has a more empirical purpose: to explain reality and its problems, and to propose solutions to them.
