Abstract:
This paper about Craftsmanship and Information Systems aims to emphasize the argument that the construction of an Information System is not only a purely technical process, but it requires a deepening and conceptual basis, necessary to the best understanding of the objective reality but also for the identification and selection of the themes, categories and variables that will integrate the System. Following this purpose, important precisions about the sense and the consequences of the economic information and the Economy of the Information were made first, as well as certain vital categories in the artisanal practice. Then, the work was focused in the challenges that emerge for the Information System when it tries to represent a heterogeneous reality in its expressions, agents and practices; fragmented, informal and also affected by policies and events in conflict, with what is traditionally understood is in the essence of the artisan activity.
