No 7101, Revista de Economía del Caribe from Universidad del Norte

Abstract: The main objective of this paper is to develop a growth-model forLatin American countries that incorporates not only the usual economicvariables, such as investment, human capital, government expenditureand trade, but also variables that can be used as proxies of institutions forthese countries, covering the period of the second half of the twentiethcentury. The emphasis is more oriented to empirical issues rather thantheoretical ones.
