L’économie sociale en France dans une perspective européenne
Edith Archambault ()
No 804, CIRIEC Working Papers from CIRIEC - Université de Liège
Abstract:
This paper intends to show that a European pattern of social economy exists, contrasting with the US nonprofit sector. This European pattern could be declined in five variations linked to the welfare state regimes and to the social origins of the countries. In the first part dealing with the historical background and in the second part on the present situation as well, the paper relies mainly on France and associations. The conclusion deals with the ambiguous relationship between European Union institutions and social economy.
