Abstract: This paper is focused on the creation and development of New Technology Based Firms (NTBFs). Because their number in Italy is very low, we decided to investigate a small sample in order to highlight problems and obstacles. A direct inquiry has been carried out in the Trieste area and 22 small NTBFs have been interviewed.
