Abstract:
Research into countries' business patterns -a very relevant subject in today's world- would not be complete without a suitable framework to sustain it. This paper aims to provide academics and managers with a useful tool in the form of a model for analysing the distinctive features of a country's business system. However, our purpose here is not merely to present a theoretical model. More importantly, the paper seeks a more complete understanding of the societal, political and economic factors in countries that influence companies. A further concern is to contribute to the field of national business systems, and the findings presented in this paper should constitute an important preliminary step towards that goal.
