Abstract: (This paper is in Turkish) In this study, we analyzed the efficiency structure of such leading sectors in Denizli as manufacturing, mining, and tourism. That this study was done on firm-based method makes it differ from similar studies. Also this study has been the most comprehensive study in terms of the number of the firms analyzed. First, the efficiency structure of 2.230 firms in manufacturing sector was analyzed for the period of 1995-2001. Second, in mining sector, total 140 marbling firms in all provinces were analyzed for 2002. Third, tourism sector was analyzed. The analysis was done in Antalya, Aydýn, Denizli, and Mugla for the period of 1999-2001. The analysis covered 704 hotels in 1999, 746 hotels in 2000, and 577 hotels in 2001. Through this analysis, firms in Denizli were compared with their counterparts in the region and the position of Denizli in those sectors was determined. The data were obtained from Turkish Statistics Institute. Data Enveloping Analysis (DEA) was used for the efficiency analyses. In the study, it was also determined if there was a convergence among efficiency levels of the firms over the years. In manufacturing and mining sectors, one of the inputs was labor which was defined as sum of labor hours worked and the other was capital which was defined as driving power capacity. In manufacturing sector, raw material was also included into analysis as input. In these two sectors, production value was used as output. In tourism sector, star-hotels were analyzed. In this sector, we used total labor hours worked and the number of beds as input, and total sales as output.
