Abstract: Based on effort-recovery model and conservation of resources (COR) theory, the present study links the work-family interface (i.e. work-family conflict (WFC) and family-work conflict (FWC) with the concept of recovery. The authors hypothesized that two recovery experiences, that is, psychological detachment from work and verbal expression of emotions- moderated the relationship of the two types of conflict (WFC and FWC) with two indicators of well-being, namely psychological strain and life satisfaction. The sample was composed of 128 emergency professionals from Spain. Our hypotheses were partially supported.
