Corporate Governance, Investor Protection, and Firm Performance in MENA Countries

Abstract: This paper will examine the relationship between firm level governance, country level governance (investor protection) and firm performance. It will further analyze to what extent firm-level corporate governance and country-level investor protection can be complements or substitutes in determining firm performance. The paper will be organized as follows: Section 2 describes related literature and develops corresponding hypotheses. Section 3 describes the data source and methodology. Section 4 outlines the results. Section 5 presents the conclusion.
